Metal Keys – Complete an express check out envelope, and hand in your metal keys at the Residence Reception Desk. | ||

Please ensure you have completed the Residence Check Out Form after you have completely vacated your room. |
Before Moving Out
- When do I need to move out in April?
-
All students are required to vacate their room no later than 24 hours after your last exam OR by 12:00 pm noon April 26, 2024 – whichever is earlier. You will receive an email containing specific move out information in the middle of March.
- Can I stay in residence beyond my contracted date?
-
The deadline to move out of residence is 24 hours after your last exam. We will be asking students to submit an Expected Departure Form indicating the date they will be moving out. This is so that we have an idea of move out traffic on the roads, in the hallways and elevators for each day. Further information regarding move out, along with the form, will be emailed around the middle of March. The deadline to complete the form is April 5, 2024.
There are no extensions beyond 12:00 pm noon, on April 26, 2024 – no exceptions.
- What do I do with my Coldex rental fridge?

Ensure that the fridge is empty and clean, and leave it in your room. Coldex will be collecting fridges beginning April 27, 2024.
During Move-Out

Drivers are asked to exercise extreme caution when driving in the Residence precinct. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
Parking for loading is on a first come first serve basis. Drivers are required to remain with the vehicle. Students should have all belongings packed and ready to quickly transport to the vehicle for an efficient move out.
- Am I permitted to have anyone assist me with moving out?

You are permitted to have people assist with your move out.
After Moving Out
- I’ve already moved out and left campus and forgot to hand in my metal keys. What should I do?

You may mail your metal key(s) to the following address. Be sure to pack the key securely so it does not rip through the packaging.

- I’ve already moved out and forgot to pick up my mail. Who do I contact?

Please contact the Residence Desk and arrange to have your mail picked up by May 7, 2024. If you are not able to pick up your own mail, please email resdesk@carleton.ca from your Carleton email account notifying the Residence Desk that a trusted third party will do so on your behalf. All mail not picked up by May 7, 2024 will be returned to the sender.
Please remember to update your mailing address in Carleton Central and remove your residence address.
