Housing and Residence Life Services is committed to the inclusion and accommodation of students with disabilities. This includes the presence of Service Animals (as defined by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act, 2005) within all aspects of university life, including Residence. The policy for is in accordance with the Carleton University Guideline on Domestic Animals on Campus and balances the health and safety of all residents with the presence of service animals in the residence community.

Please note that Housing and Residence Life Services is not required to accommodate requests for Emotional Support Animals and as such will only consider accommodation requests for verified Service Animals as defined in the Accessibility for Ontarian with Disabilities Act, 2005.
