- Packing Tips
-
Click on the following links to find out what is in your room, and what you should bring.
Residence Linens
Are you planning on buying new bedding, towels and other basics for school? Simplify packing and make your residence room just like home by ordering coordinated essentials from Residence Linens and have them delivered to Carleton before your move-in day! If you have any questions, please contact Residence Linens through their website.
Coldex Fridges
Interested in having a refrigerator in your room? The University’s contractor Coldex is offering rental of a medium bar or large bar refrigerator for the academic year!
By restricting personal refrigerators to those provided by Coldex, we ensure that all refrigerators are properly cleaned and in good working order, assist the University in providing a safe and healthy living environment in its residences, and contribute to the University’s sustainability efforts.
Please note: The following suite style residence buildings, Prescott, Frontenac, and Leeds, (reserved for upper year students), have a meal plan preparation area in the suite that includes a full-size refrigerator for use by all residents of that assigned space.
For more information about Coldex, please visit their website.
- Checking In
-
Check-in for all students will be drive-thru style in Parking Lot 7. In order to ensure your move-in is safe and smooth, please abide by the following guidelines:
- Please arrive as close as possible to your registered check-in time.
- Students – Have your government issued ID ready, and make sure you know your assigned building.
- Pull your car up to the tent for your assigned building. Please do not get out of your vehicle.

If you arrive outside of the peak periods, please report to the Residence Reception Desk, which is open 24/7.
Upon moving in, please take a few moments to review the room inventory check list here. Should there be anything missing or damaged in the room, please complete a work order online through the Housing Portal.
- Arriving Late?
-
If you intend to arrive after 11:59 pm on Monday, September 2, you must inform the Department of Housing and Residence Life Services by registering for late arrival when it comes time to register for a move in date. If we do not receive notice of your late arrival, your room will be cancelled and offered to another student. Your Residence Advance Payment (RAP) will also be forfeited.
