We are pleased that you are considering living in Residence. Carleton University and its Residences are a dynamic and diverse environment. Our community includes people from across Canada and around the world, making up a mosaic of different languages, traditions, cultures, political beliefs, and faiths. Whether you’re coming from elsewhere in Canada or halfway around the world, Residence is a global village that we hope will allow you to live, learn and grow.
Applications open on February 1, 2024 at 10:00 am.
Applicants who complete their Residence Application by 11:59 pm February 15, 2024, will be entered into a lottery to receive a time ticket. Lottery results will be communicated on February 16. Those who receive a time ticket via the lottery will receive further instructions on the new self-selection process on March 5, 2024.
Applicants who do not receive a time ticket through the lottery, as well as any applications received on February 16, 2024, or later, will automatically be added to the waitlist in chronological order of receipt.
Meal Plans are required in ALL buildings, except for Leeds House. No exceptions.

Students with “Special Student” status are not eligible for residence.

You must first accept your offer of admission before you can apply for residence and wait for your application status on Carleton360 to display “Applicant Acceptance”. There may be a delay of 3 or 4 days between the time you accept the offer of admission and are able to apply for residence.
Step 1: Apply to residence through the Housing Portal by clicking the link below. You will require MC1 credentials to log into the portal.
Step 2: Once you have logged in, click on “Housing Application”.
Step 3: Select Academic Year 2024-2025.
Step 4: Pay a $50 non-refundable application fee. The $50 application fee can be paid by credit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express, any Visa/Debit* cards) or by Interac. Please note that only customers of RBC Royal Bank, TD Bank, First Nations may use the Interac option.
Step 5: Be sure to complete and save your application by 11:59 pm on February 15, 2024 in order to be placed in the room lottery.
