Living on campus has supported my academic goals by creating an environment where all resources are easily accessible. The proximity to classes and academic support have helped me stay focused and more assured in my academics.

At first, it was difficult as it was the first time living away from home. Eventually, I met some amazing people through social events and made new friends. “Living in residence shaped my personal growth, allowing me to make impactful relationships and learn transferable skills. Residence allows me to foster a nurturing community while learning and growing as a young adult.

Thanks to the International Students’ Affinity Group I met my best friend in residence. This group connected me with like-minded students, reminding me of home. The more events and Affinity Groups I attended, the more meaningful my connections became. Additionally, events hosted by my Residence Fellow made it easier to connect with students on my floor, allowing me to form lifelong friendships.

Coming from a small island to a big campus is scary. I found the International Student’s Affinity Group to be a useful outlet for navigating those intimidating feelings. Attending the sessions made it easier to be away from home. I learned new things, met my best friends, and had fun. The Affinity Groups are incredible resources available in residence.

Living on campus supports my academic goals, providing me an easy commute to class, comfortable lounges to study in and connecting me to others in my program.”

“Living on campus helps me stay on top of my academic goals, adding a level of convenience. I’m in proximity to my classes and any necessary resources that will help me reach my goals, such as the library.

Using common spaces such as the TV lounges and the Raven’s Roost helped me meet other students living on campus with similar interests and build new connections. Making friends in residence is easier as it’s a space where everyone shares similar experiences.
