Tuesday, February 24, 2026Summer Residence Application for active Carleton University students opens. Review more information regarding the application process before you apply.
End of March, 2026Summer Residence room offers will be sent to the Carleton email account.
Friday, April 3, 2026Deadline to apply to summer residence for current residence students who wish to remain in residence after the last day of academic residence (Friday, April 24, 2026) and live in summer residence for early/full summer.
Saturday, April 25, 2026All summer fees including tuition and residence/meal plan are due. All Fall 2025/Winter 2026 fees must be paid in order to retain a summer room.
Friday, April 24, 202612 p.m. noon ET – Last day of academic residence. For current residence students: if you receive and accept a summer residence offer, your summer term residence will begin the night of Friday, April 24, 2026 unless you have already vacated your academic room and intend to move in on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Friday, April 24, 2026The last meal for academic residence is breakfast at 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. ET.
Tuesday, May 5, 20269 a.m. – 9 p.m. ET – Current residence students may begin to move to their summer room (this date is not flexible) and must be moved no later than 9 p.m. this evening.
9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. – New summer residence students who are here for full and early summer sessions may start checking in.
*Carts from the Residence Reception Desk will only be available between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, May 5, 2026Summer meal plan begins at breakfast. No meals are available between the last meal between Friday, April 24, 2026 through to Tuesday, May 4, 2026.
Wednesday, May 6, 20269 a.m. ET – Facilities staff will enter current students winter term rooms to clean and sanitize.
Wednesday, May 6, 2026First day of full and early summer classes.
Monday, May 11, 2026Deadline to remove early / full summer meal plan.
Thursday, June 18, 2026Last day of early summer classes (NOTE: Full summer classes resume Thursday, July 2, 2026).
Sunday, June 21 – Saturday, June 27, 2026Early summer exams and mid-term exams for full summer courses take place.
Friday, June 19, 2026Last day for students who are in a full summer residence contract who wish to switch their contract to early summer residence. A $300 Administrative Fee will apply.
Friday, June 19, 2026Last day for students who are in an Early Summer residence contract who wish to extend to a Full Summer Residence contract; providing space is available. It may be required that the student is moved to a new suite.
Sunday, June 28, 202612 p.m. noon ET – All students who are not staying through to late summer residence must check out of residence – no extensions are permitted beyond this date.
Thursday, July 2, 2026Late summer courses begin and full summer courses resume. Late summer meal plan begins at breakfast.
Monday, July 6, 2026Deadline to remove full / late summer meal plan.
Wednesday, July 15, 2026Summer Residence application for Carleton students closes.  Check in closes at 8 p.m. Students are no longer permitted to check into summer residence after this date.
End of July/Beginning of August, 2026Information will be emailed about Summer to Fall Stayover requests.
Friday, August 14, 2026Last day of full and late summer classes.
Saturday, August 15 – TBD, 2026Summer students who have a confirmed residence room for the 2026/2027 academic year who have opted in to the bridge period will be required to move on a designated date provided by Housing and Residence Life Services between Saturday, August 15 and TBD, 2026 based on occupancy availability. You must be on campus during this time to complete your move on the date you are provided with. Specific move dates will be provided by Friday, August 7, 2026.
August TBD, 2026Last day of Summer Residence Fellow.
Monday, August 17, 2026 – Sunday, August 23, 2026Late and full summer exams.
Monday, August 24, 2026Last day for the Summer meal plan. For those approved for the bridge period, a Dining Service location will be available on pay as you go from Monday, August 24 – TBD, 2026.
Monday, August 24, 202612 p.m. noon ET – All students who are not staying through to academic residence must check out of residence – no extensions are permitted beyond this date. Summer meal plan ends.
