The online application is found at carleton.erezlife.com/staffapp/jobs/. If you live in Residence, log in through your pre-existing eRezLife account. If you are new to Carleton Residence, you will have to create an account. When submitting your Residence Fellow (RF) application, be sure to provide an updated cover letter, resume, and two reliable references. Remember to answer all of your questions clearly. You may make changes to your application up until it closes on January 9th at 12:00 pm (noon) EST. It is strongly encouraged that you submit your application sooner rather than later.
The group assessment is a half day group interview where we hope to get an impression of the skills you possess. We are looking at your leadership style, your ability to work in groups, your response to difficult situations, your problem solving skills, and your (positive) attitude. We will also ask behaviour based questions. For the entire day, please dress and act professionally, while showcasing your personality. Remember to treat this like any other job interview.
If candidates are selected for assessment, they will choose to attend on the 2nd or 3rd of February. If candidates are selected for assessment but cannot make the assessment days in February for a valid reason, they must contact firstname.lastname@example.org in order to attend the alternative interview day on January 30th.
Behaviour Based Questions:
Behaviour based questions seek to identify positive behaviours associated with the Residence Fellow role. This requires you to reflect and provide concrete examples from past experiences. Examples of behaviour based interview questions include:
- “Describe a time when you were faced with a stressful situation that demonstrated your coping skills.”
- “Provide a specific example of a time when you used good judgment and logic in solving a problem.”
- “Tell us about a difficult decision you’ve made in your life. How did that impact you moving forward?”
