Residence Fellow
A Residence Fellow (RF) is looked upon as a role model, resource person, helper, community developer and leader for the students on their floor. Working closely with their Residence Manager, Residence Fellows commit to creating a community that is conducive to learning, academic success, personal growth and development through interaction with students on an informal and formal basis in groups and by creating one-on-one connections.
Residence Reception Desk
Students working at the Residence Desk are looked upon as a resource and first point of contact for the Carleton Residence community and general public. Students working at the desk provide many services including processing residence mail, signing out items, assisting students with lockouts and lost keys, and answering questions about residence. In the Summer, the Residence Desk also supports conference business and short-term guests staying in residence.
Raven’s Roost
Raven’s Roost is a student lounge and recreation area located in the tunnel level between Stormont and Dundas House, where a wide variety of residence programming happens including open-mic nights, talent shows, movie marathons, and much more! Working at the Raven’s Roost is a great job opportunity for students to become leaders on Carleton’s campus.
Residence Peer Conduct Board
Peer Conduct Board is comprised of students, forming two boards that hear cases related to violations of the Residence Standards. The Board meetings are chaired by a student chairperson, and members have the opportunity to review incident reports, interview students who have been involved in alleged misconduct, and make decisions about responsibility.
Mental Wellness Mentors
The Mental Wellness Mentor program provides peer-to-peer interactions that allows students to share their experiences and connect with a peer mentor in the community to feel support in all aspects of their university life. Working as a Mental Wellness Mentor will provide the opportunity for students to be leaders in the residence community and help other students overcome a variety of different challenges.
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Community Leaders
An Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Community Leader is is looked upon as a mentor, resource person, helper, leader and advocate for our equity deserving students in Residence. They must have a firm commitment to creating an inclusive residence experience. The EDI Community Leader is responsible for promoting and implementing strategies that will strengthen Equity, Diversity and Inclusion as well as Indigenous Awareness in the residence community. They will assist the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer in implementing EDI frameworks for the residence community.
