Residence Information Form
After following through with your application process, you will need to complete the Residence Information Form (RIF) located in the eRezLife portal. Please note that we cannot assign you to a room until the RIF is completed. Please use Google Chrome, Fire Fox or an Incognito window. Safari is not compatible with the eRezLife portal.
How the RIF works
The RIF helps us match you with your ideal room and building type, room/suitemates, and accessibility services (if needed) to assure you a convenient and satisfying residence experience.
On the RIF, you can:
- provide information regarding your lifestyle, and your preferences in regards to room/suitemates;
- share information that may affect your room assignment or use of the meal plan;
- indicate your room type preference other than the double traditional offered (if you are a first year student); or list your room type and building preferences (if you are an upper year student);
- request specific roommates/suitemates.
Note that preferences or requests for special accommodations are not guaranteed. For more information about special accommodations, please click here.
You will receive an email to your Carleton email account as to when the form is open for you, with instructions on how and when to complete the form.
Instructions
- Completing The Residence Information Form (RIF)
-
Because the information you provide on the RIF will determine your 8-month experience living in residence, it is important that YOU fill the form – not your parent, sibling or friend. Try to be as honest as possible when completing the form, as it will be easier for us to assign you to your ideal living conditions!
Step 1: Go to the ErezLife portal and set up your login password.
Note: You will need to log in with your Carleton email address. Please be sure you use your ‘cmail’ email. Example: firstnamelastname@cmail.carleton.ca (not firstname.lastname@carleton.ca). The password reset link will be emailed to your Carleton cmail account.
Step 2: Click on ‘Housing Applications’. You will see the application available to you, based on the session 2023-2024 and your student type.
Step 3: Click ‘Apply now’. You will be prompted to confirm and complete your ‘My Housing’ profile.
Step 4: Click on the housing session on the left hand menu to complete the RIF.
Step 5: Once you have completed the questions, please submit. You will receive a system generated confirmation email.
- Listing Room/Suitemate Preferences
-
Note that the Residence Information Form (RIF) must be completed and saved prior to being able to create/accept a roommate group.
Once you have completed your residence application you will be able to create your roommate group.
Step 1: Click on the ‘Roommate groups’ menu on the left hand menu.
Step 2: Click on ‘Create new roommate group’ and give your roommate group a name. You can add up to 3 roommates plus yourself to a group.
Note: You will need the Carleton email address of your friends to add them to your roommate group. They must also have completed the application process in eRezLife to be available to add to a roommate group.
Step 3: Your members will receive an email letting them know that they have been added. They must log into ErezLife to confirm that they want to be a member of that roommate group.
- Modifying Your Responses
