Welcome! Applications open at 10:00 am, February 1st. We are pleased that you are considering living in residence. Carleton University and its Residences are a dynamic and diverse environment. Our community includes people from across Canada and around the world, making up a mosaic of different languages, traditions, cultures, political beliefs, and faiths. So whether you’re coming from elsewhere in Canada or halfway around the world, residence is a global village that we hope will allow you to live, learn and grow.
Please note that you must first accept your offer of admission before you can apply for residence. Furthermore, there may be a delay of three or four days between the time you accept the offer of admission and are able to apply for residence.
The 2017 – 2018 Residence Agreement is now available. The 2018 – 2019 Residence Agreement will be updated in the Spring of 2018.
1. Apply for residence online.
The first Step should be Log on to Carleton Central and Select the Housing On-line Link from the Main Menu. Please note that if you wish to apply for residence, you will be required to pay a $35 non-refundable application fee. The $35 application fee can be paid by credit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express, Visa/Debit cards) or by Interac, also through Carleton Central. Please note that only customers of BMO, RBC Royal Bank, TD Bank, CIBC, and Scotia Bank may use the Interac option.
You will receive an email 48 hours after paying the applictation fee with a link and instructions on completing the Residence Information Form.
Online process available February 1st. Applications are due by June 7th, 4:30 pm ET in order to be included in the Room Lottery held on June 13th.
2. Lottery/Waitlist information
Based on available space, students will be forwarded an Offer of Residence Accommodation or a waitlist assignment number shortly after the Room Lottery on June 12th. Any applications received after the deadline of June 7th will be added to the end of the waitlist. Space will be offered in waitlist order, as it becomes available through cancellations. It is important that you set up and check your Carleton email account, which we will use to communicate with you. You are also welcome to contact our office to check your status.
