Pack Like a Pro: Three Packing Rules for a Smooth Move-In
There will be plenty of eager and enthusiastic student facilitators around to help you lift and carry belongings to your room! Follow the rules below for a smooth operation:
- Have your Government Photo Identification Ready
- You will need your ID to complete your check-in, make sure you have it on your person (not in the trunk) for a quick check-in.
- Label Your Belongings
- Label all of your belongings with your name and building to help facilitators know where to go.
- Hold On To Your Valuables
- Keep any valuables (i.e. wallets, cell phones, laptops, etc.) on your person.
Move-In Day Instructions
Your check-in time is booked, your boxes are labelled, and you have your identification at the ready, now all that’s left is to move in!
To avoid congestion on campus, and account for all your fellow residence students also moving in, we ask that you follow a few guidelines:
- There will be plenty of excited facilitators available to help you get your belongings to your room, we kindly ask that you only bring two guests with you on move-in day.
- Space on campus is limited, please unload your vehicle and move it to a designated parking area before setting up your residence room. Please note, the driver must remain with the vehicle while it is being unloaded.
- During regular move-in hours the loading zones will be busy, please be considerate of others moving in and refrain from using these areas multiple times.
When You Arrive
Campus Safety has provided these instructions to avoid congestion:
- When you arrive on campus, follow the large red signs and the directions of staff directing drivers to Parking Lot 7. Check-in will be drive-thru style, so you will not have to leave your vehicle!
- You will follow the signs to the check-in tent of your assigned building. (You will receive your building information in your email in mid-August). You will be required to present your check-in QR code and a piece of government-issued ID (passport, driver’s license, etc.) upon check-in. Please ensure that your identification is easily accessible, (not in the trunk).
- Once you have the keys to your room, you will be permitted to move your vehicle closer to your assigned building to unload your belongings.
We are excited to welcome you on campus this year, Welcome Home Ravens!
