Welcome to Russell, Grenville, and Prescott Houses!
“Who are we!?”
My name is Steph, I am the Residence Manager for RPG and I want to welcome you to some of the best years of your life! Coming to university is an incredible adventure and living in Residence can be one of the best parts. We hope that you love every minute of your time with us at Carleton University, meet some of your closest friends in Residence, learn a lot about yourself, and have fun!
Russell, Grenville, and Prescott Houses are named after counties in Eastern Ontario! Fun fact, all of the Residence buildings here at Carleton are named after the various counties in Eastern Ontario. Russell House, a traditional style building, was built in 1964 and houses roughly 182 students. There are four floors with one Residence Fellow (RF) per floor. Make sure you get to know your RF, as they will help you plan all the fun events! Right next door to Russell, is Grenville House. Grenville was also built in 1964 and houses roughly 190 students. This traditional style building also has four floors and one RF per floor. Don’t forget, the RFs can be your biggest support and resource! These two traditional style buildings allow students to get to know each other and create lasting friendships quickly! Lastly, Prescott House, is a suite style building that was built in 2003 and houses roughly 398 students. Prescott has 6 floors, with two amazing Residence Fellows per floor. Prescott House is unique in the sense that students only live on floor two through seven, and the first floor is actually at tunnel level! This year, 7th floor of Prescott House is a Quiet Floor. Regardless of what floor you are on, this suite style building offers students an incredibly opportunity to meet their neighbours, make new friends, and share in the learning experience.
Russell, Grenville, and Prescott Houses are awesome buildings, where we hope you will learn and grow with us. We want to make your first year at Carleton University, one of your best! As the Residence Manager for these buildings, I am here as a support and a resource. You will often see me walking through the buildings, so please don’t be afraid to say “hi” and strike up a conversation with me. I absolutely love my job, especially because I get to hang out in Residence and meet all of you! I would love to hear how you are enjoying Residence, how your programs are going, and if I can provide any help from study tips, to fun facts about exam prep, sleeping or eating healthy.
Feel free to follow me on Twitter, and tweet about your Residence experience! I look forward to meeting you all and seeing you represent RPG!
